Keegan Singh & Eddie Borgo
Eddie Borgo [jewelry designer]: We’ve lived here, in this apartment, since 2008. I think that it can either be totally cool—because Keegan freelances and I’m at work early—or it can really be not cool, if we’re getting ready at the same time, in our one bathroom.

Le Labo Elizabeth Street
Legend (internet) has it that when cult perfumer Le Labo rolled out its latest scent, Santal 33, a two-block-deep line formed outside the NoLita boutique in anticipation.

Clark’s Botanicals Intense Radiance Mask
With all the products on rotation in my routine (and yours too, I assume), it can be difficult to tell which ones are actually working: a serum one morning, a cream the other, and that fancy eye concentrate? It’s really only given a chance to shine every fourth night, when I remember to apply it.

Maria Dueñas Jacobs, Accessories Editor, Glamour
“I like to look natural. I have the same makeup routine night and day. I start with moisturizer—different ones, depending on what I got from the beauty closet…I’m not skin care loyal. But what I am loyal to is Dior Hydra Life tinted moisturizer.

Jean Godfrey-June, Beauty Director, Lucky
“My life with beauty… let’s see. I mean, the thing I would say is that I just always wanted to be a writer. I wasn’t particularly interested in beauty. What I discovered as I became a writer is that everyone relates to beauty. You know, even the person who’s like, ‘I never wear makeup, I am totally natural,’ they have lots of Neutrogena, lots of Clinique, you know.

Francelle Daly, NARS National Makeup Artist
“I started doing makeup when I was fifteen, at a day spa in New Orleans, where I’m from. I was kind of just winging it. So that really taught me how to do makeup. I didn’t go to school for it, I didn’t assist anyone ever—I really picked up on it learning to do real people’s makeup. And I always say this—I never see anyone in a horrible mood with a bright pink lip or a bright red lip on.

Shaved
I love an under-shave. In fact, I had one two summers ago (somehow, warm weather always inspires me to try out the punkier looks). But French model Aymeline Valade—with co-conspirator Guido—really took hers to the next level, with a full wraparound style.

My Skin Care: June 2011
Where do I begin. It’s actually been tricky to figure out a way to do my own Top Shelf, because my routine is constantly evolving—but so is everyone’s. So, no excuses. Let’s start with a skin care post: the foundation and really my biggest beauty obsession. I love a new lipstick, don’t get me wrong, but you know what that lipstick looks great with? Glowing skin.

Is Pink The New…
Adding on to my fantasy wish-list of beauty experiments for summer: pink tinged hair. (Also on the list is Vanessa Traina’s ear piercing, below). Yes, it’s been a trend on the runway, but lately I’ve spied real girls who dip-dye with aplomb—like this jeune fille in Paris.
